The Gateway

This is my last post in my series on The Gateway. There are so many things to do and see at The Gateway and writing an individual post about all of them would get tedious and boring. But I don't want to stop sharing about this place. They have updated a lot of things there in recent years and are still adding more new things. Below are just a few more suggestions of things to do at The Gateway.

Things I've done and loved:

Rocket Fizz - Specialty candy and soda shop. There are many locations throughout the country, but only two in Utah (the other is in Vineyard).

Salt and Honey - A maker's market. This place has locally made, independently produced items that are fun and unique. Many artists and makers use this store as a platform to sell their handmade creations.

Dave and Buster's - Another place that is all over the country - but this is the only one in Utah. Think Chuck-e-Cheese's, but for grown ups. Still family friendly, but does serve alcohol in certain sections. Includes great food, games and prizes. My kids love this place, and heck, so do I.

Clark Planetarium - a free science and space museum with tons of interactive exhibits. There is also IMAX theater and a Dome Theater with many educational shows to watch (not free - but reasonably prices). Might I suggest the cosmic light shows? They are mostly on weekends and later at night, but they are very unique and set to the music of various artists like U2 and Led Zeppelin. They personally give me motion sickness, but my kids enjoyed it and my husband LOVED it.

Discovery Gateway Children's Museum - this is a wonderful children's museum where kids can come and just play. They have music, pretend stores, a live beehive, climbing features, a car race track, blocks galore, STEM activities, special classes and events and so much more.

Wiseguys - this is a comedy club where a lot of different comedians come to perform their stand up. They have open mic nights, local comedians, but also host bigger names. Ryan and I have been here for many shows including Sal Vulcano (Impractical Jokers), Bob Saget (Full House), Matt Iseman (American Ninja Warrior), David Spade (Tommy Boy) and more.

Things I want to check out on my next trip:

Coming Home - a holiday, home decore, pop-up shop

The Store - a specialty grocery store

Sweet Rolled Tacos (coming soon) - rolled ice cream in a taco shaped cone

Momi (coming soon) - mochi meets donuts

And there are still more things that I could mention. I just wanted to mention some highlights - especially places that are unique and non-chain.
