Goat Yoga

Image
The Gateway is a large open-air mall with shops, businesses, activities, restaurants and more in downtown Salt Lake. It has so much to do that the whole family took an entire day to hang out there and experience the things The Gateway has to offer. This particular Goat Yoga experience happened on a different day, but I figure I'll use it to start off my Gateway series of posts. Goat yoga. Have you heard of it? It's a new fad I've been hearing about. You do yoga while goats prance around you and jump on you. Let's start with the cons: *Ouch ouch ouch! A goat jumping on me?? Ouch! At one point there were 4 goats on my back at one time. There hooves hurt. I left with scratches and bruises. *I couldn't hear the instructor giving the yoga instructions. (This con would of course be based on what company you have your goat yoga experience with) *The yoga mats are pretty dirty. You can bring your own - but then it might get goat dirty too. *Yo...

Kids' Cash Fair

Image
Mountain America Credit Union Kids' Cash Fair I've been procrastinating writing this post because this was an event that I wasn't a huge fan of. And I'm not out to bash Mountain America. I could tell that they put a lot of effort into this event. And the concept was super cool. But the execution just left the whole thing kinda blah. This is the blurb that was used to advertise the event on facebook: Help your kids learn about finances! Join us Wednesday, August 7, for the Kids’ Cash Fair at the Mountain America Expo Center in Sandy. Your kids will earn and spend play money while participating in fun financial games. When you checked in to the event, each child got a pretend wallet. There was a checklist of activities to go to (some just for younger kids and some just for older kids). You would go to each station, participate in the activity, get your wallet stamped and got a pretend dollar to put in your wallet. At the end, you could exchange your preten...

SvahaUSA

Image
And now it's time for something I really love. SvahaUSA is my favorite place to buy clothes. It's basically nerd-clothes central. And it's awesome. All their dresses have pockets and their patterns are just so fun and nerdy and I love it!! The tags that come on the clothes are entertaining too. It starts with: OUR STORY In 2015, Jaya and Eva saw a major problem in the apparel industry. Why can't you find girls' clothing with astronauts? Why don't boys' clothes have cats or butterflies on them? Why aren't there feminine women's clothes that feature science or technology? Jaya and Eva decided to team up to make a change! It continues with: OUR MISSION We are starting a revolution aimed at shattering gender stereotypes in apparel! Our apparel for women & kids proves that STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) concepts are amazingly cool & completely accessible to everyone! And then each item has it's own cl...

Angry Birds 2 Preview!

Hi guys! Today I want to post about Angry Birds 2! I was able to get (not-free) tickets to an advanced screening of Angry Birds 2 using the Atom app and a the code TARGET. I personally liked the 2nd Angry Birds movie more than the first one. And the baby birds and pigs are just so stinkin' cute!!! I don't want to give away any spoilers, but I loved the B Plot (involving the baby birds!) And the A Plot wasn't bad either. A little predictable - but in a kids movie sort of way (cuz sometimes kids need predictability). Little C said it was "awesome" and "a good movie." Her favorite character was the puppy trapped in ice. Little D said it was "great." and that she "loved it." Her favorite character was Bomb. I thought the movie had good attention to detail with small things like an ice cream cone made out of worms  and small things going on in the background. All in all, it was a cute movie . It is definitely a ...
